Establishment of AK Auto Electric Systems Co. Ltd Changzhou, China.

Opening of our new logistics center in Kirchheim. Opening of the extension building in Frenstat. New products for use in circuit boards: Fuse holder, relay holder an high current contracts for the power supply.

Establishment of AK Auto Electric Systems (India) Pvt. Ltd. Pune, India.

Establishment of AK Frenstat s.r.o. in the Czech Republic. Managing director: Mr. Bedřich Raška.

From component to system supplier: modular trailer wiring, central electrical systems and cable harnesses. Introducing of lamellar contract technology for fuse boxes through cooperation with Ingenieurbüro Neumann-Henneberg. First applications in travel and city buses. Door contract for sliding doors on vans. Use of new production methods like lean production.

ABS connectors are developed, as the anti-lock braking system becomes mandatory for trucks from 1991.

Development of a multi-stage ignition switch for diesel engines, which had gained a huge part of the revenue for the next decades.

The first waterproofed cable junction box for electro installation in outdoor use is developed by AK. Our customer called them butter dish, because of the similarity to the German butter dish. This variant is still sold today.

Establishment of the AK Logo at the IAMA - Automotive and motor vehicle fair 1937 in Berlin.

Exhibition stand 19. IAA in Cologne - for the first time only for commercial vehicles. Issued were devices for automotive lights, low beam, foot-switches for BiLux lights, pushbuttons and electrical windscreen vipers.
